Blue Wave Orange Dragonfly
My Blue Wave Orange Dragonfly Gravy Boats are thrown on the pottery wheel and altered when they have had the chance to dry out. When the pieces have dried a little more I add the small feet to the bottom. Finally I begin painting with my colorful palette of under-glazes to light the form up. My last step is to carve areas on the design to accentuate my painting. I love the whimsical design qualities this form has making it one of my favorites to make and paint. This gravy boat looks wonderful nestled into a dinnerware set. Kristin uses one for all occasions and not for just for pouring gravy. I use one when I am cooking on the grill and pouring sauce on my favorite grilled treats.
